Our Clinical Aromatherapist, RoseMarie Counihan, offers one to one consultations here at Bury Physio.
RoseMarie is a member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) and achieved a distinction in her diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy.
RoseMarie is passionate about the wonderful powers of the natural ingredients in essential oils that can aid people with the acute and chronic symptoms that they experience.
RoseMarie does not use massage, but instead creates bespoke aromatherapy treatments for her clients. These treatments can directly impact symptoms being experienced and to a large extent ameliorate them, sometimes completely. Treatments are individually tailored to the client’s needs and preferences.
Because the creation of essential oils is part of the natural life cycle of a plant or tree, they are very easily assimilated into our bodies. Once assimilated, the essential oil molecules react with the body’s systems to create numerous different effects. These can include being anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, balancing, antiviral, hormone balancing, stress relieving, sedative and diuretic among others.
The traditional knowledge of how plants and oils aid healing and give pain relief is now being supported by a growing body of scientific research into the natural compounds found in plants and how they interact with the body and mind.
Prior to the initial consultation, RoseMarie will send a detailed health questionnaire to the client which needs to be returned at least 72 hours before the first consultation.
The questionnaire answers are an essential element of the client’s safe care, to ensure that the essential oils will not impact adversely on a client’s health conditions nor adversely affect the efficiency of their medication.
