Anna is a clinic director and general musculoskeletal physiotherapist who also teaches mixed ability Pilates classes at the clinic. Anna has an MSc Advanced Physiotherapy and has completed training courses for acupuncture, women’s health, and cancer rehabilitation. Pilates specific training via APPI includes Pink Pilates (for anyone receiving or who has completed cancer treatment) and ante/post-natal Pilates. She is the East of England representative for the UK Pinc and Steel Foundation alongside Hayley Jarvill, which provides local funding for cancer rehabilitation classes in the clinic. Outside of work Anna enjoys swimming, cycling and running, the occasional triathlon, gardening and (mixed success) vegetable growing!
Hayley is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist trained in injection therapy and diagnostics and is also one of the clinic directors. Hayley has a Masters in Rehabilitation and a Masters in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy (MACP). Hayley enjoys treating complex cases and sports injuries. Hayley is also trained in Pilates under the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates institute (APPi). She is also an East of England representative for the UK Pinc and Steel Foundation which provides local funding for cancer rehabilitation classes. Outside of work Hayley enjoys time with her family and Pilates.
Mark specialises in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, with a special interest in manual therapy and is a qualified acupuncturist. Mark takes an interest in sports injuries (running the Sports Injury Clinic alongside Consultant Orthopeadic Surgeon Mr Paul Nicolai). Away from work he has a passion for football and enjoys time with his family.
Jane treats a variety of conditions, including dizziness and imbalance associated with inner ear problems or breathing disorders. She also has many years experience treating shoulder conditions, post surgery joint rehabilitation, mobility problems and osteoporosis. Jane is a keen dog walker!
Carol treats a variety of orthopaedic conditions from sports injuries to joint and mobility problems. She likes to establish the cause of a problem and treats using biomechanics, exercise and manual therapy. She also has specialist training in the treatment of headaches and migraine; expertise in rehabilitation following long term illness such as cancer and is qualified to practice acupuncture.
Petra is an MSc Graduate and used to work as a clinical physiotherapist specialist in Cambridge before joining us at Bury Physio a few years ago now. She has an interest in spinal, sports and orthopaedic conditions and uses manual therapy, movement analysis and exercise rehabilitation. She also enjoys rollerskating, ballet and badminton.
Neil qualified as a physiotherapist in 2006. His main interests are general musculoskeletal physiotherapy, occupational health and ergonomics. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons, playing football, running around the Suffolk countryside, playing golf and watching the darts.
Tanya is an experienced neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapists, who is a member of the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. Tanya treats all musculoskeletal problems including sports injuries, back and neck problems and biomechanical presentations. She is also qualified to use Acupuncture and offers management advice and treatment for Facial Palsy.
Gertrud is able to treat a variety of conditions, can provide orthotics, acupuncture and uses hands-on techniques. She has an interest in patients with neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinson and stroke. She also runs a ‘gentle’ lunchtime gym ball stability class. She also is happy to see patients in their home environment or care home. Gertrud captained an equitation horse riding team for GB 2010 and teaches aerobics.
Erica qualified as a nurse 22 years ago and completed her Msc Pre Reg Physiotherapy in 2010. She is a trained Lymphoedema therapist having developed an interest in oncology and palliative care work. She is keen to combine and develop her skills within private practice to provide a holistic service to patients.
Erica enjoys being out on the water, kayaking and sailing recreationally with her family.
Ben has been working with clients since 2005. His main passion is supporting people back to health utilising the benefits of exercise and establishing personal goals for his clients. He is a 5-year Cancer survivor and inspires others to be the best version of themselves. Outside of work, he enjoys playing cricket, beach walks, watching local non-league football and reading.
Oliver is a fully qualified level 3 sports massage therapist, holds a level 3 diploma in ‘excellence in sports performance’, NQF BTEC extended diploma in sports, is a qualified athletics coach, swimming instructor and lifeguard.
Oliver has always been passionate about sport, he is currently the county champion in hammer, discus and shot put for the last 5 years. He has been competing for the last 3 years as a senior athlete for Shaftesbury and Barnet, a premier division club. Oliver is now part of the GB under 23 squad and is aiming for the British and European Championships over the next few years. His future goals are to compete on the international arena including Commonwealth, World and Olympic games.
Oliver’s passion for sport is the driver behind his sports massage therapy career as he fully understands first hand the impact of injuries. He enjoys teaching and helping others to achieve their potential or recover from life experiences that have affected their physical and mental health.
Emma is a Nutritional Therapist who has a passion for what we eat, how we eat and why we eat it! She has an interest in understanding and learning about the impact food has on our body systems and overall health. Emma has a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Master of Science in Nutritional Therapy.
Emma offers comprehensive one to one consultations to support clients with a range of health conditions, including gut issues, weight management, women’s health, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Outside of work Emma enjoys cooking, walking, ballet and spending time with her family.
Neil Liffen, is an Extended Scope Practitioner in Physiotherapy and a Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Sonographer with over 15 years experience working within the NHS and private practice. Diagnostic ultrasound is a skill, which takes years to learn and Neil now performs >5000 diagnostic ultrasound examinations per year for NHS radiology departments, private organisations and ECP. In addition, he has maintained his ‘hands on’ skills for manipulative therapy, but also performs >1200 corticosteroid injections per year for the NHS and private setting on sports injury, musculoskeletal and rheumatology conditions on behalf of orthopaedic consultants, podiatry surgeons, rheumatologists, GP’s and other healthcare professionals
Pippa is a specialist neurological physiotherapist who has been practising for just under 9 years in the NHS. She is experienced in treating a broad range of neurological conditions including Stroke, MS, Parkinson’s, acquired brain injuries and functional neurological disorder.
She has completed Pilates training with APPI (levels 1,2 and a neuro-specific module). She has attended a functional electrical stimulation (FES) course for the lower limb run by Odstock medical.
In her spare time, she enjoys running and yoga.
Emily has worked in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy for many years and currently leads The Pelvic Health Physiotherapy services in West Suffolk. She is currently studying for a masters level course in Women’s Health at Bradford University. Emily enjoys teaching pre and postnatal Pilates, and trained with APPI. She is passionate about Women’s Health, and making sure that women with pelvic problems have access to evidence based physiotherapy.
Becky has gained clinical experience in a variety of settings including private practice, community and palliative care. She holds an interest in long term conditions, oncology and palliative care using a holistic approach to improve function and understanding of conditions. Becky uses functional movement, exercise and biomechanics as part of her physiotherapy treatment. She is also a Level 3 qualified Personal Trainer and enjoys helping clients to gain confidence with exercise. Outside work Becky enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking, running and cycling. She has completed several half marathons and has cycled 1000 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats.
Lizzie is a Certified Yoga Teacher and a Massage Therapist who is passionate about the mind and body connection. Lizzie has found Yoga to be a successful way to help manage stress, chronic pain and various issues within the body. Her classes are for everyone and the classes include gentle flowing postures, designed to help open and stretch the whole body. Classes always end with a guided relaxation and meditation to promote relaxation and mental well-being.
Lizzie also provides Aromatherapy Body Massage & Specialist Cancer Massage. She believes in a holistic approach treating the person as a whole. Tailoring the treatment to suit each client and their individual needs, and leaving each client feeling relaxed, promoting general wellbeing and stress management.
As a qualified sports massage therapist and fitness professional with a BSc (Hons) in Physical Activity and Health, my approach is all about client-centered care, helping individuals reach their health and fitness goals through focused recovery and training strategies. My philosophy is focused on understanding each client’s unique needs and providing tailored sports massage therapy to aid in muscle recovery, injury prevention and overall performance enhancement.
I’ve always been extremely passionate about the benefits of sport and physical activity, having spent years studying and experiencing firsthand how essential movement is for overall well-being. My love for sports massage comes from knowing the impact it has on recovery and performance- whether helping athletes bounce back from injuries or supporting clients in achieving pain-free movement.
Outside of work, I stay active with boxing training and enjoy running, functional strength training, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Lottie gained her degree qualification in Sports and Exercise Therapy which includes a sport massage qualification. She has completed over 200 hours of placement at AFC Sudbury football club, Bradford Bulls Rugby League, Bury Physio clinic and assisted athletes in an ultra-marathon event.
Lottie has always been involved and interested in sport including of netball, athletics, Muay Thai boxing and regular consistent attendance in the gym. Having experience the impact of knee injury and surgery, Lottie has a good understanding of what it is like as a patient and how important it is to be able to connect with your physio to achieve the best results.
Lottie is interested in assisting athletes, in any sport, to overcome injuries and help them return to the level of training or competition they are aiming for, as well as guiding them on the best way to prevent further injuries.
In May 2022 Lottie completed the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge with her university Thai boxing team, raising funds for Motor Neurone Disease. In the future she would like to complete more work for charities including Alzheimer’s society and cancer research.
Anna is a qualified Personal Trainer who has a particular passion for women’s health and fitness. She uses her experiences in her own fitness journey to support and encourage women specifically in relation to strength training, allowing them to build confidence and improve their overall health. She believes fitness should be enjoyable and helps clients to weave it into their rhythm of life.
Anna has been intentional about altering her own rhythm of life and ensures this now involves a good balance of fitness, well-being, work and rest.
I am a Professional Clinical Aromatherapist and the owner of Rose Aromatics.
In a previous life, I was a lawyer in the City of London for over 20 years. After experiencing health issues, the use of complementary therapies (including aromatherapy), helped give me a feeling of being involved in my own health management and well-being plus a sense of control, which is often lacking in standard medical treatments.
When I am not working with or studying essential oils my hobbies relate to all thing’s textile, including quilting, embroidery, weaving, knitting, historical garment construction and fashion, among other textile related activities. For the past few years, I have had a stall at the St Edmundsbury Cathedral Christmas Market selling embroidered goods which I really enjoy doing as I get to meet so many interesting people.
Sophie specialises in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, with a keen interest in post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation such as anterior cruciate ligaments and total knee replacements. As well as an interest in lower limb conditions Sophie is also able to treat hand conditions and a wide variety of other general physiotherapy conditions. Sophie complete an MSc in Advancing Physiotherapy Practice in 2022.
Sophie is keen Rugby fan having worked with local Rugby teams for several years and rehabilitating rugby injuries. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family, friends and travelling.
Anna is a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 15 years experience. She worked in the NHS and private practice initially, and left the RAF in 2023 after serving for 12 years as a physiotherapy officer. She completed both her undergraduate physiotherapy degree, and Masters in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Birmingham, gaining the MACP accreditation (Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists).
From her time in the military, Anna specialists in sports injuries and the use of exercise, alongside hands on treatment to rehabilitate injuries and reduce the likelihood of re-occurrence. She is a qualified sports massage therapist, and is also trained in acupuncture, and pilates.

Cara teaches Pilates classes at the clinic, on Monday and Friday mornings, and enjoys attending classes herself, as well as cardio work at the gym! She regularly attends courses to keep herself up to date with the Pilates world and is qualified to teach a pre- and post-natal Pilates. Cara also works at AHP locally and enjoys the mix of work, particularly more complex patient cases.
Clare is currently in her final year working towards a degree in Sports and Exercise Therapy.
She is qualified to level 5 in Sports Massage, Functional Rehabilitation, Applied Sports Therapy and is also working towards a qualification in dry needling and lymphatic drainage.
After working in an office for 17 years, Clare was inspired to take the leap and return to education to pursue her passion to help people stay mobile and live a long fulfilling life.
Her passion to help people has always been a big part of Clare’s life, after watching a young family relative excel through rehabilitation after 3 hip operations has been massively inspiring.
Clare has treated clients from home for 5 years with deep tissue massage and loved that she was able to make a person feel better physically and mentally as she understands that talking therapy is also a valuable skill to have after using this herself.
She is a fun, outgoing lady that believes that its never too late to make a difference in your life.
In her spare time, she loves to spend quality time with her 2 girls and likes to try as many new fun activities as possible. Theatre, roller skating, skiing, boot camp and beach walks are just some of the things Clare enjoys in her spare time.
Lindsay is a fully qualified ITEC Sports and Holistic Massage Therapist, Nutritionist and Menopause Health Coach and is fully insured with the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
After qualifying as an ITEC Holistic Massage Therapist in 2005 and then a Sports Massage Therapist in 2006 she went on to set up in private practice in health clinics across Essex.
In 2017 she qualified as a nutritionist and currently runs a private practice both in person and online offering one to one and group coaching programmes. She specialises in gut health and is a certified Menopause Health coach.
She is also a fully qualified, accredited and insured NLP coach, certified baby massage instructor (CIMI®) and a qualified reflexologist.
Along with treating a wide variety of health problems over the years Lindsay gives talks and holds workshops on topics including Menopause, Weight Loss, Gut Health, Women’s Health, Arthritis and Diabetes.
Lindsay continues to broaden her knowledge and is currently studying the MenoStrength® programme – the A-Z of Strength Programming for the midlife female.

Graduating from Keele University in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, Laura began her career journey as a Musculoskeletal (MSK) specialist in private practice. Laura worked in Occupational Health, for contracts such as South Yorkshire Police, Royal Mail, British Telecoms and Anglian Water. After a year and a half she moved to Norfolk where she began training in Pilates with APPI (Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute) in 2011. This has allowed Laura to teach regular classes ranging from beginner to advanced, with both matwork and small equipment. Laura went on to complete my Acupuncture Foundation qualification in 2012, specialising in headaches, and neck and back pain. Laura treats patients of all ages, and my areas of physiotherapy practice include; MSK, Paediatrics and Neurological conditions and also enjoys working with sports specific injuries and rehabilitation.
