Festive Forest challenge raises more than £4,000 for St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds
More than 260 people headed to West Stow yesterday for the annual Festive Forest challenge in aid of St Nicholas Hospice.
Festive Forest Challenge in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care. Festive Forest Challenge, at West Stow Country Park, 290 people are taking part in the annual run, walk or Nordic walk around the forest, covering 10km, half-marathon or 20 miles, starting and finishing at West Stow.
Participants, many of whom wore Christmas attire, could chose to run, walk or complete a Nordic walk around the forest, with routes covering 10km, 13 miles or 20 miles.
Jenny Baskett, events and challenges fundraiser for St Nicholas Hospice, said: “It was absolutely brilliant, a super day.
“We had bands of merry elves, Father Christmas’ and Christmas puddings.
“People really went to town, they always do.
“It’s such a nice day, even for the people helping. It’s a really positive, fun atmosphere.
“We would like to send a massive thanks to Kevin from Positive Steps for organising the event.”
