Physiotherapists Pippa Harley and Gertrud Swanevelder provide Neurological Physiotherapy rehabilitation at Bury Physio.

Pippa runs a Neuro Pilates class which is suitable for for clients living with a neurological condition such as MS, Parkinson’s, stroke and brain injuries.  Click here to find out when the class runs in the gym.

This service is suitable for individuals who have had a stroke or have been diagnosed with a neurological condition that results in weakness or balance issues amongst some of the presenting symptoms.

Our physiotherapists can assess your function and provide treatment/management with a functional focus to improve mobility and quality of life.

Pippa and Gertrud are able to treat clients with a variety of neurological conditions including stroke, MS, Parkinson’s, functional neurological disorder, spinal injuries, and acquired brain injuries.

A comprehensive and holistic assessment will be carried out which will lead to the delivery of personalised treatment plans tailored to each client.

Treatments will aim to improve function and independence, achieve goals, and improve quality of life

  –Strength, conditioning and mobility exercises
  -Task specific practice
  -Gait (walking) re-education
  -Balance training and falls prevention
  -Pilates
  -Advising appropriate walking aids, orthotics and splints
  -Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) and functional electrical stimulation (FES) for walking
  -Pain management
  -Education and self-management
